A method for manufacturing a flat discharge lamp is provided to reduce a rejection rate by holding spacers in a stable manner in the convection current of a joining furnace. A method for manufacturing a flat discharge lamp comprises a step of arranging a solder processing bath including a soldering agent(5); a step of dipping an end of at least one spacer(3) into the solder processing bath; and a step of providing the dipped end of the spacer to an inner surface of a base plate(6) such that the spacer is soldered to the inner surface of the base plate by the soldering agent from the solder processing bath. The flat discharge lamp includes the base plate, a frame, a cover plate, and spacers disposed between the base plate and the cover plate. |
