SCROLL COMPRESSOR

A scroll compressor is provided to form upper and lower chambers of a ring serving as a revolving-preventing element for an orbiting scroll, thereby lifting the ring and the orbiting scroll by refrigerant gas of intermediate pressure for the close contact between the orbiting scroll and a fixed scroll. A scroll compressor includes a ring(16) for preventing revolving of an orbiting scroll(7) and making the orbiting scroll orbit in a fixed scroll. Upper and lower chambers(17,19) are formed at upper and lower ends of the ring for lifting the ring and the orbiting scroll by refrigerant gas of intermediate pressure to make the orbiting scroll contact the fixed scroll. The refrigerant gas is discharged into the upper chamber via a communication hole(7d) of the orbiting scroll and moves to the lower chamber via a communication hole(21) between the upper and lower chambers. Simultaneously, the refrigerant gas presses a sealing element(20) around the lower chamber, thereby completely sealing the lower chamber.
