The control (2, 3, 4) includes an electroluminescent layer. A decorative layer is added. This forms a decorative image, or a symbol representing the related function. In a vehicle, switching on the headlights, also switches on the associated electroluminescent layer. The electroluminescent layer is sprayed on, sputtered, painted or screen printed.
