The fixture stores and protects sports nets over the Winter. After use, the net is rolled up and a straight bar is inserted under the band through the tape reel, preferably by a rolling machine to begin with. The bar has a blunt tip and is about 10 cm longer than the diameter of the net bundle. The bar has a small enough diameter to be inserted through the mesh of the net. At its other end is a cord or chain double or three times the length of the bar, which is pushed over the tip of the bar by means of an eye or loop, and prevented from slipping back by a light tug. The fixture can be hung on a hook, staying upright by its own weight.
