<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To selectively oxidize and remove elements to be oxidized and removed in a molten metal without peroxidizing the molten metal even under a condition of a low oxygen-sending rate or when the oxygen-sending rate was greatly decreased, in the step of oxidizing and refining the molten metal by blowing oxygen gas into it. <P>SOLUTION: The smelting method through top-blowing oxygen by supplying a gas containing oxygen gas as a main component from a top-blowing lance 2 to the molten metal 4 in a reaction vessel 1, to oxidize and refine the molten metal includes supplying a substance of causing an endothermic reaction or a reductive reaction through a different duct from that for passing the gas containing the oxygen gas as the main component, so that the substance can approach to a jet of the gas containing the oxygen gas as the main component blown from the top-blowing lance, in the whole period or a partial period in which the gas containing the oxygen gas as the main component is supplied. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
