PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an emergency shutdown device for a refuse push-in device of a refuse collecting vehicle equipped with a refuse cast-in box in which the push-in device is installed and which is furnished with a cast-in hole opened in its rear surface, arranged so that the refuse is cast into the box by the operator through the cast-in hole and intruded into the box located ahead by the refuse push-in device, capable of stopping the push-in device not resorting to the operator's own will and in the condition not approaching too close to the cast-in hole and preventing the operator from encountering an accident to be included in the push-in device. SOLUTION: The refuse cast-in box 2 is equipped in its rear with an emergency stop switch 60 to stop the operation of the refuse push-in device and an emergency stopping means 35 to operate the switch 60, wherein the emergency stopping means 35 is furnished with an operating means 45 which can be selectively engaged in the service position protruding long backward from the cast-in hole 4 and the accommodation position located under the cast-in hole 4 and is arranged movable in the direction fore and aft. If the operator approaches the cast-in hole 4 and touches it while the operating means 45 is in the service position, the operating means 45 moves to actuate the emergency stopping means 35 to put on the emergency stop switch 60, and the refuse push-in device is shut down in emergency.
