摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To adjust a focus offset and a spherical aberration correcting system in a highly precise manner. <P>SOLUTION: An optical disk device reproduces information on the information recorded surface of an optical disk by irradiating the information recorded surface of the disk with a light beam through an objective lens. An adjusting method is provided to optimize a mechanism which adjusts a focus offset and a spherical aberration correcting mechanism which is used to correct spherical aberration generated in the light beam which irradiates the information recorded surface. Characteristics of a reproduced signal of the information on the surface are measured when the focus offset is varied within a prescribed range. The optimization of the adjustment is conducted based on detection information obtained by detecting the symmetry of the characteristics curve of the reproduced signal. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
