摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a variable compression ratio mechanism for an internal combustion engine at low cost, capable of reducing variation in compression ratios among cylinders in a double link-type piston stroke mechanism. SOLUTION: In the multi-cylinder internal combustion engine, the variable compression ratio mechanism for an internal combustion engine is equipped with: a first link 11 connected to a piston 22; a second link 12 connected to the first link 11 and mounted on a crank pin 21b; a control shaft 14 supported in parallel with a crankshaft by a cylinder block and having an eccentric shaft part 15 eccentric to a rotation axial center; and a third link 13 connected to the second link 12 through a connecting pin 26, oscillatable with the eccentric shaft part 15 of the control shaft 14 as an oscillatable axial center. The variable compression ratio mechanism is for variably controlling the engine compression ratio by rotating the control shaft 14 according to the engine operating state and changing the position of the eccentric shaft part 15. The variable compression ratio mechanism is equipped with an adjusting means capable of adjusting the engine compression ratio by adjusting the distance between the connecting pin 26 and the eccentric shaft part 15 independently for each of the cylinders.
