PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a box for transporting a glass substrate which can improve storing capability for the glass substrate to a specified box volume, and can suppress a large bending deformation of the glass substrate even when an external force acts on the glass substrate, and the box for transporting the glass substrate is laid down sideways. SOLUTION: In this box for transporting the glass substrate, longitudinal channels are formed between a pair of adjoining guiding rib members 46 being parallel and vertically extending from the opening toward the bottom part of the side face pads 48 stuck on a pair of the inner side faces facing each other of the box main body 2. It is constituted so that when the opening of the box body 2 is closed with a lid body 3, a plurality of the glass substrates G in the box body 2 are forcibly bent by a projected part T provided toward the other facing guiding rib at an approximately intermediate position of the upper and lower positions on one side of the guiding rib member.
