A glow plug of a diesel engine is provided to minimize lowering of flowability of intake air and to improve durability of components, by variably changing the protruded length of a glow plug according to temperature of the air. A glow plug of a diesel engine comprises a housing(12) of a hollow shape fixed to a cylinder head(10); a communication body part(16) of a hollow shape received in the housing; a heating body part(18) electrically connected from the communication body part and movably received in the communication body part; and a volumetric variable part(20) causing a change of volume according to peripheral temperature between the communication body part and the heating body part.
