PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electromagnetic relay with stable mechanical endurance. SOLUTION: In the electromagnetic relay, a movable block 5 supported rotatably around a support point p is rotated in the direction normal or reverse around the rotational axis by energizing or demagnetising a magnet block 4. The engagement part 27 of the card 3 supported linearly movably in forward or buck ward direction is engaged with a card engaging part 26 formed in the end portion of the movable block 5. The card 3 is reciprocated forward and backward by the normal or reversible rotational movement of the movable block 5 and the contact mechanism is operated to switching the contact mechanism 2. The fictional line L connecting the card engaging part 26 of the movable block 5 and the axis p of the movable block 5 are set approximately ortohgonalized for the moving direction A of the card 3 when the movable block 5 become parallel and neutral for the magnet block 4.
