Cellulose pulp is refined as in the parent specification, and then diluted with water before the fibrils produced in the refining can fall back on to the fibre. The fibrils are thus stabilized, so avoiding loss of quality in the pulp on storage. The pulp may subsequently be thickened and stored before further processing.
