PURPOSE: A backup service processing method in a portable terminal is provided to back up various resources of a portable terminal with an agent function of a movatar, while backing up the resources in an external server at set time through a wireless communication network. CONSTITUTION: A controller senses an automatic backup setup(211), and judges backup conditions(213). The controller transmits a backup request(215). The controller generates a backup service request message to attempt accessing a backup server(221). The controller authenticates/certifies the backup server(223), and performs a data synchronization for a kind of designated data(225). When the data synchronization is terminated, the controller starts transmitting confirmed backup data(227). The backup server stores backup information transmitted from a portable terminal(229). The portable terminal receives a response message from the backup server(231).
