ROLLER AND METHOD FOR FABRICATING THE SAME TO FORM ROLLER HAVING GOOD SURFACE CHARACTERISTIC

PURPOSE: A roller and a method for fabricating the roller are provided to form a roller having good surface characteristic that is not affected by a void even when the void exists in an elastic layer by press-shaping a predetermined shape for the surface of a rubber composition. CONSTITUTION: A roller includes a mandrel(11) and a conductive elastic layer(12) surrounding the mandrel. The roller has surface roughness of 0.5 to 10 micrometer. The roller includes voids existing on the surface thereof. The voids have an average diameter of 10 to 400 micrometer and a length/breadth ratio of 1.3 to 10.0. The angle between an axis along the maximum diameter of the voids and a tangent line from the center of each void to the centric circuit of the roller is 0 to 45 degree.
