CAMERA ZOOM UNIT OF A MOBILE TERMINAL, PARTICULARLY FOR IMPLEMENTING A HIGH FUNCTIONAL MOBILE PHONE BY EMPLOYING A ZOOM FUNCTION OF A GENERAL CAMERA

PURPOSE: A camera zoom unit of a mobile terminal is provided to allow a mobile terminal to have similar performance to that of a digital camera and a camcorder by implementing a zoom function of a camera lens automatically or manually. CONSTITUTION: An optical unit of a camera(300) of a mobile terminal can be zoomed by means of a zoom controller(400). The optical unit of the camera(300) includes an inner container(320) with an eyepiece(321) installed therein and an outer container(330) with an objective lens(331) installed therein. The zoom controller(400) includes a linear motion mechanic unit(410) for linearly moving the outer container(330) in a longitudinal direction. A rack gear is formed at an outer circumferential surface of the outer container(330) coupled to be linearly movable at the inner side of the first hinge part(231) of a main body. A motor(412) is fixed at an upper portion of the main body. A motor gear(414) is installed between a driving gear(413) fixed at a shaft of the motor(412) and the rack gear.
