OPTICAL RECORDING MEDIUM AND ITS MANUFACTURING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably manufacture and provide an optical recording medium having lower jitter in high speed recording, in the optical recording medium whose recording layer is formed by applying an organic coloring matter solution.

SOLUTION: In the optical recording medium wherein a recording layer capable of recording information by a laser beam and consisting of the organic coloring matter and a reflection layer are formed in this order on a substrate having guide grooves formed in the surface thereof, the coloring matter of the recording layer is applied by using a mixed solvent containing a main solvent consisting of a nonpolar solvent or a mixed solvent of two or more organic solvents consisting essentially of the nonpolar solvent and an added solvent having a boiling point lower than that of any one component in the main solvent and having an ether group in the chemical structure thereof.
