ECHO CANCELER, METHOD, AND ECHO CANCELLATION PROGRAM, AND RECORDING MEDIUM FOR RECORDING THE PROGRAM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an echo canceler the performance of which is not deteriorated even when a reproduction signal and a size of a simulated error are subjected to scaling at the same ratio. SOLUTION: The echo canceler includes: a means for storing an acoustic reproduction signal for a prescribed time to obtain a reproduction signal sequence; a means for storing a sound collection signal for a prescribed time to obtain a collected sound signal sequence; a means for applying linear conversion to the reproduction signal sequence to obtain a reproduction signal conversion sequence; a means for receiving the reproduction signal conversion sequence to generate a simulated echo signal conversion sequence for simulating the linear conversion sequence of a sneaked echo signal; a means for receiving the simulated echo signal conversion sequence and the collected sound signal sequence and outputting the simulated error of the simulated echo signal conversion sequence; a means for receiving the reproduction signal conversion sequence and the simulated error to create the update sequence of conversion region echo simulation filter coefficients used for generating the simulated error of the simulated echo signal conversion sequence; and a means for nonlinearly controlling the size of the conversion region echo simulation filter coefficients update sequence on the basis of the ratio of the size of the reproduction signal conversion sequence to the size of the simulated error.
