The present invention relates to methods for the analysis, classification and/or tree construction of whole or partial sequences such as gene sequences, protein sequences, character sequences or number sequences, dependent on the species, language etc. (i.e. the origin of sequences, and their similarity or homology (using correlation analysis) as well as two methods for detecting specific partial sequences within a given sequence.
