PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reading device capable of facilitating replacement work and saving space of a sheet document conveyance unit for conveying sheet document and book document to an image reading part and a book document conveyance unit. SOLUTION: A main body part 1 of a digital composite machine is provided with an image reading part 12 for reading image data and a first driving roller 10 and a second driving roller 11 provided at upstream and downstream positions in the direction of document conveyance in the image reading part 12. A document conveyance device 2 attached turnably to a part above the main body part 1 through a support lever 21 is provided with front, rear, and intermediate conveyance rollers 61 to 63 for conveying sheet document and front, rear, and intermediate conveyance rollers 41 to 43 for conveying book document. By rotating a unit support frame body 20, the front, rear, and intermediate conveyance rollers 61 to 63 for conveying book document or the front, rear, and intermediate conveyance rollers 41 to 43 for conveying sheet document can be switched so as to oppose for a main face of the main body part 1.
