<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a using area restriction system for an IC card for deciding and restricting a using area of the IC card mounted in a portable terminal for each IC card user. <P>SOLUTION: This using area restriction system for the IC card is constructed of the portable terminal, the IC card mounted in the portable terminal, and a transmitter/receiver making communication with the portable terminal. The transmitter/receiver is provided with a means transmitting positional information specifying the location of the portable terminal. The portable terminal is provided with a means writing the received positional information in a storage means of the IC card. The IC card is provided with a storage means storing using area information specifying a usable area and information necessary for use of the IC card, a collation means collating the positional information inputted to the IC card with the using area information stored in the storage means, and a means allowing reading of the information stored in the storage means of the IC card if the collation result by the collation means shows that it is within the using area. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
