<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a cellulose ester film free from blocking trouble and having excellent membrane-adhesion property in clear hard coating process, non-curling property and scratch resistance and provide a cellulose ester film produced by the method, a hard coat film and a polarizing plate having the film. <P>SOLUTION: The cellulose ester film is produced by a solution casting film-forming method and contains fine particles and two or more kinds of plasticizers. At least one of the plasticizers is selected from polyhydric alcohol ester-type plasticizers and the other plasticizer is selected from plasticizers other than phosphoric acid ester-type plasticizer. The film peeled off from the substrate in the solution casting film-forming process is drawn in MD direction and TD direction in a state having a residual solvent content of higher than a specific level and lower than a specific level, respectively.
