PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power saving type thin flexible illuminator manufacturable without needing special manufacturing facilities at a low manufacturing cost, and capable of carrying out illumination with high luminance. SOLUTION: This thin flexible electron emission member comprises: a sheet-like cathode electrode 1; a sheet-like anode electrode 5 formed oppositely at a predetermined distance from the cathode electrode; an electron emission element 2 formed on the inside surface of the cathode electrode; a fluorescent material layer 4 formed on the inside surface of the anode electrode; and a plurality of insulators 3 interlaid between the cathode electrode and the fluorescent material layer.
