[Also in Division D1] A sliding clasp fastener of the continuous coil type is woven to the stringer tape. A cord C passes through the loops of the element coil 1 and is held by the weft. Covering flaps are formed by warp threads 1-7 and (1')- (7'), Fig. 3 (not shown), above and below the elements. Two threads form a single pick, and there are 4 picks between each element, two in the upper cover flap, and two in the lower flap. In one embodiment the picks alternate, (Fig. 2). In another embodiment pairs of picks alternate.</p> |
