FIELD: rolling processes and equipment, namely mills for hot and cold rolling. ^ SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of mechanical working of used up roll; heating its barrel; quenching roll and tempering it. During mechanical working shortening length of barrel of worked out roll by 1.1 -1.9 times. Heat treatment modes are normalized.
