PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method of detecting open/short locations of electrode lines in a flat panel circuit using a magnetic sensor and a camera are provided to detect simultaneously the open/short locations by detecting open/short electrode lines according to intensity of magnetic signals. CONSTITUTION: A signal generator(703) is used for applying an electric signal to a first electrode line. A magnetic sensor(705) is used for detecting magnetic field generated from a second electrode line or first/second electrode lines. A first driver(706) is used to drive a magnetic sensor. A control unit(702) controls operations of the signal generator and the first driver and determines disconnecting states and short circuit states of the electrode lines. A photograph unit(704) photographs the disconnected electrode lines or the electrode lines of the short circuit states. A second driver(707) is used to drive the photograph unit.
