LAUNDRY WEIGHT DETECTING METHOD OF A WASHING MACHINE FOR REDUCING DETECTION ERROR BY CALCULATING LOAD MEASURING VALUES FOR ACCELERATION AND DECELERATION STEPS

PURPOSE: A laundry weight detecting method of a washing machine is provided to reduce laundry-weight detection errors generated by frictional force by using load measuring values of acceleration and deceleration steps in a laundry-weight detection process at one time. CONSTITUTION: A laundry weight detecting method of a washing machine is composed of an acceleration step for speeding up a motor so as to reach a predetermined RPM(Revolution Per Minute)(S101); a constant-velocity holding step for keeping constant velocity when the RPM of the motor reaches a predetermined value in the acceleration step(S105); a deceleration step for turning off the motor(S107); an individual laundry-weight calculating step for computing each laundry-weight value of the acceleration and deceleration steps(S109); a comparison step for calculating an absolute value of difference between computed laundry-weight values of the acceleration and deceleration steps and comparing the absolute value with a set error value(S110); and a decision step for judging the amount of the laundry by choosing larger one of the laundry-amount values detected from the acceleration and deceleration steps if the absolute value is in the set error value(S111).
