IMAGE CONVERSION SYSTEM AND IMAGE CONVERSION METHOD

It is possible to rapidly perform image conversion from a first coordinate to a second coordinate as compared to the conventional way and to cope with various types of lens and mirror. In a mapping step, mapping means (12) references a correspondence table T which correlates a first coordinate system with a second coordinate system and maps pixels on the first coordinate system correlated by the correspondence table T, on the second coordinate system. Since mapping is performed by referencing the correspondence table T, the conversion processing can be performed rapidly as compared to the conventional case in which the pixel mapping position is calculated by using the coordinate conversion equation for each coordinate.
