ELECTROPHOTOGRAPHIC IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS

摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that image quality degradation in an image forming apparatus which is high performance and multi-functional cannot sufficiently be prevented with a conventional countermeasure for degradation of a developer in which toner is forcibly consumed based upon an image area rate and development drive time.

SOLUTION: A distance moved by a developer carrier is detected as well as an image area rate. An image area rate per unit distance moved by the developer carrier is detected from them, and toner forcible consumption is controlled based on the result of the detection.
