PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric power steering device for detecting a short circuit between phases at the input shaft side or output shaft side of a twin resolver type torque sensor. SOLUTION: In the electric power steering device having a twin resolver type torque sensor consisting of a torsion bar, an input shaft side rotation angle sensor, and an output shaft side rotational angle sensor, it is determined that the short circuit occurs between the phases in one sensor when an electric angle computation result by either the input shaft side rotational angle sensor or the output shaft side rotational angle sensor is included in a first specified angle range including 45°at least for a fixed time, and an electric angle computational result by the other is included outside the second specified angle range at least for a fixed time.
