The noise generating device may be used as a musical instrument and for other purposes. It consists of a rectangular sheet (11) made of flexible material e.g. paper or cardboard. It may be printed with a decorative pattern or an advertising or political message. It has a set of pleats (12) which divide it into e.g. ten strips (13) and enable it to be folded up accordion-fashion.
