An arrangement for generating a free magnetic field which can be switched off/interrupted, has a core (8), at least one permanent magnet (12) surrounding the core (8), and at least one annular coil (10) surrounding the permanent magnet (12) with the coil flowed with current such that a magnetic field (16) boosting the magnetic field (14) of the permanent magnet is generated.
