PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air motor spindle by which the length in the axial direction of a member can be shortened comparatively, and accuracy in a tool at a tip can be maintained in comparatively good condition. SOLUTION: An output shaft 14 having a cutting tool 16 or a grinding tool detachably provided at the tip is borne in a casing 11 through a bearing, and furthermore, an air motor 18 connected to the rear end of the output shaft is provided in the casing. An air supplying passage 21 for supplying air to the air motor and an air exhausting passage 22 for exhausting the air from the air motor are formed in an intermediate portion separated from the rear end of the casing by a predetermined length.
