PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure the heat check resistance, wear resistance, and galling in the slide contact surface of a member such as a die for forging with which a prescribed member is brought into slide contact. SOLUTION: The surface of a base metal 12 consisting of steel is provided with a metallic layer 14. In the metallic layer 14, the first layer 16 consists of a self-fluxing alloy such as a Ni-Cr-Al based alloy. Further, the relative density of the second layer 18 is the lowest. Graphite as a lubricant is packed into the pores of the second layer 18. When the die 10 for forging is used, the graphite passes through the pores of the third layer 20 having a relative density higher than that of the second layer 18 and also set to the value equal to or lower than that of the first layer 16, and is drawn out to the surface of the third layer 20.
