PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mounting structure of a chain tensioner for simply mounting a chain tensioner. SOLUTION: In this device, a mounting hole 3 having a large-diameter screw hole 4 is formed in a cover 2 covering a chain 1. In the device, the chain tensioner 10 having a cylindrical housing 11 is inserted in the mounting hole 3, a plug 6 is engaged with a pilot hole 4 of the mounting hole 3 and fastened, and the chain tensioner 10 is prevented from escaping from the mounting hole 3 to the outside by the plug 6.
