<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal recording material of well-balanced performance from the viewpoint of excellent texture whiteness and thermal response as well as superb shelf stability of a recorded image part/a texture part such as plasticizer resistance, heat/humidity resistance and heat resistance. <P>SOLUTION: This thermal recording material contains a condensation reaction product of a carboxylic acid component (A) containing a (poly)4-hydroxy benzoic acid as an essential component and a polyhydric alcohol component (B) containing a trivalent or higher polyhydric alcohol as an essential component, which are organic acid substances in a thermal color development layer including a leuco dye, an organic acid substance and a sensitizer. In addition, the material contains a naphthyl alkylsulfonate derivative as the sensitizer represented by Ar(R1)<SB>m</SB>(OSO<SB>2</SB>R2)<SB>n</SB>(provided, however, that Ar is a naphthalene ring; R1 is a halogen atom, an alkyl group, an aralkyl group, an alkoxy group, an aryloxy group, an acyl group or an alkyloxycarbonyl group; R2 is l-4C alkyl group; m is an integer of 0-4; and n is an integer of 1-4). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
