<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information processing system capable of limiting the use of a content by portable equipment having no authority even when portable equipment acquires various contents from a storage medium. <P>SOLUTION: This information processing system comprises a cellular phone 1 and a cradle 2. The cradle 2 can install the cellular phone 1, and also install a cartridge 3. The information processing system comprises an equipment detection means, a content determination means, and a use control means. The equipment detection means detects the installation of the cellular phone 1 to the cradle 2. The content determination means determines, when the equipment detection means detects the installation, whether or not the cartridge 3 recording a content of the same kind as a game program is installed to the cradle 2.
