PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a parking assisting device, whereby a driver can easily grasp the relative positional relation between an obstacle and his own vehicle. SOLUTION: This parking assisting device photographs the peripheral view of one's own vehicle by a CCD camera 3, and displays the peripheral image of one's own vehicle based on an image from the CCD camera 3. The device prepares a first image viewed from a first view point based on the image from the CCD camera 3 while preparing a second image viewed from a second view point different from the first view point, and displays the first image and the second image on the display 5 of a picture screen 7 when operating the vehicle for parking.
