PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an energy recovery circuit which reduces the electric power consumption of a PDP drive circuit. SOLUTION: A sustain means includes an inductor for charging or discharging panel capacitor; inductor charge path means which provides a path through which energy is charged to the inductor and is opened when the inductor is substantially fully charged; a panel capacitor charge path means which provides a path through which the panel capacitor is charged with the energy charged in the inductor and is opened when the panel capacitor is substantially fully charged; a panel capacitor discharge path means which provides a path through which the panel capacitor is discharged and is opened when the panel capacitor is substantially fully discharged; and an auxiliary storage means which supplies the charged energy to the panel capacitor.
