<p>At least two filter units are mounted in a rotary and/or sliding carrier within a housing having feed ports in and out and a cleaning outlet port. The units can be selectively placed either in an operating posn. or in a cleaning posn. where a reverse flow of fluid carries the impurities from the clogged filter out through the exhaust. The new filter goes into the operating posn. automatically and simultaneously when the carrier places the clogged filter in the cleaning posn. The process may be made automatic using pressure difference built up across a clogged filter as the control input signal.</p> |
