Method and device for machining the outer edge of a workpiece

In a numerically controlled machine tool process to modify the outer contour of a work piece e.g. a mineral slab. The machine tool has an axis of rotation (x) that is at right angles to the cutting plane (E), the axis of rotation being parallel to the cutting plane. The tool (15) swivels about an axis (4) that is essentially at the centre (M) of the tool cutting radius and at right angles to the cutting plane. Also claimed is a commensurate assembly.
