A cleaning member (6) for cleaning an image carrier (1). The cleaning member (6) includes a support plate (62) having a planar face portion (64) configured to be fixed to an object in a position adjacent to the image carrier (1), a plurality of reinforcement features (63,67) configured to reinforce a strength of the support plate (62), at least one of the reinforcement features (63,67) arranged on the planar face portion (64), and a blade connecting portion (68) arranged on the planar face portion (64). The cleaning member (6) further includes an elastic blade member (61) connected to the blade connecting portion (68) of the support plate (62) such that the elastic blade member (61) extends toward the image carrier (1) when the support plate (62) is fixed to the object.
