PURPOSE: Provided are a cysteine derivative, a metal tricarbonyl complex using the cysteine derivative, their preparation methods and a contrast medium containing the cysteine derivative or the metal tricarbonyl complex which is excellent in blood plasma stability. CONSTITUTION: The cysteine derivative is represented by the formula 1, comprises a functional group capable of binding easily with a physiological activation material, and has excellent binding power to radioactive ray nucleus species, wherein R is H, a methyl group, an ethyl group or a t-butyl group; Z is t-butoxycarbonyl group or H; and L is a molecular terminal whose terminal is a carboxy group, an amine group, a halogen atom, an isothiocyanate group, a nitrile group, a hydroxyl group or an alkyl group. The metal tricarbonyl complex is represented by the formula 6, wherein M is technetium or rhenium.
