NOVEL NICKEL COMPLEX HAVING N-ALKYL-BETA-KETOIMINAGE LIGAND USEFUL AS CATALYST FOR OLEFIN POLYMERIZATION, AND ITS PREPARATION METHOD

PURPOSE: Provided are a novel nickel complex having an N-alkyl-β-ketoiminate ligand used as a catalyst useful for the polymerization of olefins, particularly cyclic olefins, and its preparation method. CONSTITUTION: The catalyst is represented by Ni(m)L(n)L'(o)X(p), wherein L is an N-alkyl-β-ketoiminate represented by the formula 2; L' is a neutral ligand compound selected from an amine-based compound or a phosphine-based compound; X is a halogen atom, an alkyl group or an aryl group; m is an integer of 1-10; n is an integer of 1-10; o is an integer of 0-10; and p is an integer of 0-10. In the formula 2, R1s are a C1-C8 linear or branched alkyl group or an aryl group, respectively; R2 is H or a C1-C8 linear or branched alkyl group; R3 is a C1-C8 linear or branched alkyl group containing a donor atom or a hetero aromatic ring; and n is an integer of 0-8. The method comprises the steps of reacting the N-alkyl-β-ketoiminate represented by the formula 2 with Tl(OC2H5); and reacting the obtained one with NiX2 (wherein X is a halogen atom).
