PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication system for an opening/closing mechanism for preventing the occurrence of disconnection etc., facilitating assembly with a main body and a door, reducing a manufacturing cost and stably continuing communication even if the door is opened/closed about the main body. SOLUTION: The system comprises a hinge mechanism for infrared ray communication 12 specified for infrared ray communication rotatably attached around the center axis, the same as a rotary axis C of a hinge mechanism for structure support 11 mechanically supporting an automobile door 2 to an automobile main body 1; a main body side communication means composed of a main body side light emitting diode 15a and a main body side photodiode 16a disposed at a main body side hinge 13 jointed to the main body 1; and a door side communication means composed of a door side light emitting diode 15b and a door side photodiode 16b disposed at a door side hinge 14 jointed to the door 2.
