PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toroidal-type continuously variable transmission which materializes improvement in power transmission efficiency and miniaturization of the transmission itself by simplifying the structure of a trunnion for supporting a power roller. SOLUTION: The toroidal-type continuously variable transmission is provided with a pair of input side disc 2 and output side disc 4, a power roller 11, a trunnion 6, a drive unit 32 for displacing the trunnion 6 in an axial direction of pivotal shafts 5a, 5b, and a pressing device 12 for exerting a press force to at least one of the input side disc 2 and the output side disc 4 so as to approach to each other along a center axial line O1. The power roller 11 is controlled to move in the direction of the center axial line O1.
