<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cable for a high-voltage coil capable of reducing flaws in the cable surface during insertion into a cable slot, preventing water tree generation even when dew forms on the surface of the cable for a high-voltage coil due to the change in a load current flowing through the cable or the temperature change, reducing the discharge between the cable and the surrounding installations, and reducing the opening area of the cable slot, without lowering the energy conversion efficiency. <P>SOLUTION: The cable for a high-voltage coil of this invention comprises an insulated cable in which a conductor is coated with an inner semiconductive layer, an insulating layer of crosslinking polyethylene, and an outer semiconductive layer. A water sealing layer containing a metal foil is provided on the outer surface of the insulating cable. On the outer surface of the water sealing layer, a semiconductive cladding layer is provided to extend continuously or intermittently in the direction of the length of the insulated cable.
