PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect both acceleration and angular velocity with sufficient response, especially concerning an apparatus for detecting the acceleration and the angular velocity based on force acting on an oscillator. SOLUTION: The apparatus is provided with excitation means 141-143 for exciting an oscillator 130 having a mass (m) in each axial direction and force-detecting means 151-153 for detecting force acting on the oscillator in each axial direction. The detected force in each axial direction is separated into force (f) resulting from acceleration and the Coriolis force F which results from angular velocity by signal separation means 161-163. On the basis of each separated force (f), acceleration calculation means 171-173 output respective axial componentsαx,αy, andαz of acceleration by using the arithmetic expression f=m×α. Based on each separated Coriolis force F, angular velocity calculation means 181-183 output angular velocityωx,ωy, andωz around each axis by using the arithmetic expression F=2m×v×ω(v is an instantaneous speed regarding the oscillation direction of the oscillator).
