摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive and reliable aperture diaphragm device which adjusts the light quantity of incident light, corrects the light quantity distribution of emitting light and adjusts the correction quantity, and to provide an optical scanner which corrects the light quantity distribution on a recording medium by taking the variance in the light intensity of Gaussian distribution of the light emitted from a light source and the effective reflection width of a reflection face of a rotating polygon mirror into consideration. SOLUTION: The optical scanner has: a light source; a deflection and reflection face which deflects the light emitted from the light source and scans the recording medium with the light; and an opening part which is provided between the light source and the deflection and reflection face and formed by a non-plane light shielding part, and the aperture diaphragm device allowing the light shielding part to vary the light shielding quantity of the light emitted from the light source in the subscanning direction, depending on a position in a main scanning direction and in light advancing direction.
