<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a protection system of a wind generator capable of coping with abnormality such as failure or blackout, of which a main brake system is simplified with no increase in scale of an auxiliary brake system nor weight of a support structure and a rotor. <P>SOLUTION: In the protection system of a wind generator 1, if a main brake is inoperable due to failure or blackout, the information is transmitted to a controller 11. The controller 11 issues a switch instruction to a first relay 9 and a second relay 10, so that the relay 9 connects between first power transmission lines 6a-6b and third power transmission lines 8a-8c, while the relay 10 connects second power transmission lines 7a-7c and third power transmission lines 8a-8c, forming a closed circuit between a synchronous generator 4 and an actuator 5. Thus, the electric power generated by rotation of the rotor directly drives the actuator 5, to steer a blade to a feather side, protecting a pinwheel from over rotation. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
