<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To output a natural translation by making use of the knowledge of word relations within a source language and a target language, in translation from the source language to the target language. <P>SOLUTION: The device comprises a parallel translation dictionary 21 registering, for every word of the source language, an index word, a grammatical attribute, a semantic attribute and a translation generation rule; a source language dictionary 21 describing, for every word of the source language, an index word, a grammatical attribute, a semantic attribute, and a relevant word if present; and a target language dictionary 22 describing, for every word of the target language, an index word, a grammatical attribute, a semantic attribute, and a relevant word if present.
